Sell beauty with real margins and real trust

Sourcing, pricing, fees, shipping and listings — plus three calculators that tell you whether a sale is actually worth making.

Reseller calculators

Run the numbers before you list.

Profit Calculator

Every real cost of a single sale, from marketplace fees to bubble wrap.

Net profit

$18.56

Margin

34.4%

ROI on cost

103.1%

Fees: $7.02 marketplace + $1.92 processing. Break-even sale price is about $29.44.

Pricing Calculator

Work backwards from the margin you want instead of guessing a price.

List price

$54.08

Profit per sale

$18.93

% of MSRP

75.1%

Shipping & Bundle Calculator

Compare shipping items separately against combining them into one parcel.

Shipped separately

$15.60

Bundled in one parcel

$24.60

Bundle margin

34.2%

Bundling changes profit by $9.00 on this order. Bundles spread one set of fixed costs across several items — which is what rescues low-priced inventory.

The reseller workflow

Buying inventory

Retail clearance, liquidation pallets, live auctions, wholesale accounts, or your own destash. Record unit cost, date and batch code the moment stock arrives.

MSRP vs resale price

MSRP is an anchor, not a target. Condition, demand, discontinuation and completeness of packaging move the real number far more.

Marketplace fees

Commission, payment processing, promoted-listing fees and shipping labels all come out of the same sale. Model them together, never separately.

Shipping

Tape pumps, bag liquids, wrap glass, use rigid boxes for palettes, and buy tracked postage on anything above a few dollars.

Bundling

Bundles raise order value and spread fixed costs. A $12 item that loses money alone can be strongly profitable inside a $45 bundle.

Inventory management

One row per unit: SKU, cost, source, batch code, PAO, condition, listing date. Review ageing stock monthly and discount before it expires.

Listings that convert and stay out of dispute

Product photography

  • One window light plus a white bounce card
  • Consistent neutral background across every listing
  • Five shots minimum: front, ingredients, batch code, fill level, any flaw
  • A skin swatch for anything with colour

Honest descriptions

  • Condition in the first line
  • Size, shade name and number
  • Batch code and estimated manufacture date
  • PAO and what is included in the box
  • Flaws described plainly, not buried

Building trust

  • Publish your policies before anyone asks
  • Dispatch within the window you promised
  • Answer questions with facts, not hype
  • Solve small problems generously — reviews compound

Common reseller mistakes

Track five numbers weekly

Revenue, cost of goods, fees, postage and units on hand. Fifteen minutes tells you which lane is genuinely profitable and which one only feels busy.

Check the rules for your market

Cosmetics resale is regulated differently across regions, and marketplaces restrict certain used categories such as mascara and lip products. Confirm the specific rules before listing.
